SP6 high speed coupling from R+W Antriebselemente GmbH is a state of the art, high performance solution for machining spindles and other high speed drive applications.

It is made from high strength aluminum or steel, along with thermally stable and wear resistant TPU elastomer, which makes it particularly resilient. The elastomer ring has a vibration damping effect while remaining backlash free, due to a precision preload between the coupling jaws. Two precisely manufactured hubs with clamping rings and concave jaws ensure the performance.

Apart from the jaw geometry of the coupling hubs, zero backlash of the ROTEX® GS backlash free servo couplings (elastomer couplings) is largely based on the geometry of the ROTEX® GS spiders. They are designed in that the convex teeth of the spider fit the concave jaws of the coupling hub under prestress. Combined with the straight spline there is low surface pressure and higher stiffness of the coupling system.

The flexible spiders of our servo couplings are available in five different kinds of Shore hardness. This allows to easily adapt the coupling to the individual conditions of an application considering the torsion stiffness and vibration characteristics.

The teeth of the spider absorb the displacements und are radially supported in the internal diameter by a web. With strong accelerations or high speeds this prevents too high internal or external deformation. The permissible ambient temperature depends on the spider's Shore hardness.
